(pronounced \koh-hoh-lah\)
Koholā means humpback whale. Every winter, the koholā swim 3000 miles from Alaska to Hawaii to breed and give birth. A mother koholā is ~45 feet long and weighs ~40-45 tons. A koholā calf will average 14 feet in length and weigh two tons at birth!
